Medico Legal Work By Dr. Pat Hill
Dr. Pat Hill retired from General Practice at Blackpool Medical Centre on the 31st July 2025, with Dr Mortimer O’Connor taking over the GP Practice at Blackpool Medical Centre.
Dr. Hill will continue to provide his own Medico Legal service from the premises at Blackpool Medical Centre in Blackpool Community Centre. While this work is independent of Blackpool Medical Practice, please contact Blackpool Medical Centre for appointment arrangements and any additional information required.
Dr. Pat Hill is an experienced and qualified Family Doctor and Orthopaedic Physician. He is a graduate of UCC Medical School. He has been practising in Cork for over 20 years. Because of his background in Orthopaedic Medicine and being a trained Orthopaedic Physician, Dr. Hill has worked with most large legal firms in the Cork region over the last twenty years and also with insurance companies. Medico - legal work is a regular part of the weeks work and is strictly by appointment only. Turnaround times are prompt and comprehensive reporting to the highest standard is his aspiration. Providing expert witness support in court is an essential part of this work.
Doctor Visit Card Applications
As you may be aware, the Government recently announced the expansion of free GP care to all children under the age of 8 and to households earning below the new median income threshold. Eligible current practice patients can apply in the coming months as follows:
· If your child is aged 6 or 7, you can apply online for a Doctor Visit Card from 11th August 2023.
· If your household earns below the median income (€47,000 per year after deductibles) you can apply online for a Doctor Visit Card. The extension of free GP care on income grounds will take place in two phases, on September 11th and November 13th.
